In a practical demonstration of his commitment to local football development, the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Sports to the Delta State Governor, Paul Omamomo Ojo, has fully sponsored three Delta-based grassroots coaches for the  CAF License D Coaching Course.

The coaches, identified as promising figures in youth development from different zones of the state, were personally selected by the SSA to receive the necessary training to improve their technical and tactical knowledge.

The beneficiaries of the Paul Ojo Omamomo sponsored CAF Liecense D Coaching Course includes  Coach Jonah famutua of Successful Pillars Academy, Coach Onokpevwe Otega kennedy  popularly know as ‘Big Daddy’ and Efe yarhere, a player coach with Warri Wolves F.C.

Prior to the recent trio, Paul Omamomo in the last batch enrolled and sponsored (10) grassroot coaches to acquire the CAF D Licensed certificate all in his absolute sponsorship.

The sponsorship covers the full cost of registration, course materials, and logistics.

Omamomo, a renowned international football agent and scout, stated that the initiative for years now has been his little contribution towards grassroots coaches in Delta State, an intiative designed to get Delta State Grassroots Coaches upto speed with the ever evolving Coaching Philosophy’s in football.

“You cannot have world-class players without world-class coaching,” Omamomo stated. “Delta State is a huge talent hub, but for our young players to compete globally, the quality of their instruction must be top-tier.

The CAF License D is the foundational step in professional coaching, and my office will continue to ensure our local coaches are given the opportunities to acquire these essential certifications.”

He emphasized that the investment is crucial for the success of the state’s football future. “My goal is not just to find players, but to create a sustainable ecosystem. By empowering these coaches, we are ensuring that the next generation of Deltan stars—whether they stay here or move abroad—are molded by technically sound trainers right from their local fields.”

This gesture aligns perfectly with Omamomo’s pledge to deliver “dedicated, transparent, and people-centered service” in his new capacity as SSA on Sports.
